Likely the reason why it is riding up is because your chest measurement has decreased since you have had the baby. Mine was the same way. If I were you, I would go get refitted for a new nursing bra, which will be much more comfortable. When I was pregnant, a week before my baby was born I bought a nursing bra. I was a 38F. I was told to come back in a month, once I had nursing down, and my breasts were no longer engorged. I returned, and was back to my original size of 34G. It sounds like my breasts got smaller, but the 38 cups are just wider. I bought a new nursing bra, and my shoulders and back were so much more comfortable! It also was a lot more attractive, because the old bra was riding up and causing lovely rolls! So go get refitted by someone who knows what they're doing, and it will be much better!
When I work out, I wear a really good sports bra. It's this one:

The woman who measured me for it told me if it feels too tight, it fits! It was a life saver when I was horseback riding – 34Gs are pretty hard to keep restrained! I have been wearing it now that I'm nursing, and it's perfectly comfortable. I only keep it on for about two hours (while I'm working out) with nursing pads, and then take it off and shower. I have not had a problem yet, and my friends who wear their normal nursing bras are so uncomfortable!
My milk supply has not been affected.
Good luck and congrats!

You don't have to…it's more just for convenience that's all, although they are more comfortable due to the amount of pressure that your breasts have when breastfeeding. I do suggest you wear the breast pads underneath whatever bra you choose to wear. Trust me, it's not funny when you go out in public and then you suddenly look down and see why everyone is looking at your chest (leakage). It will happen even when you hear another baby cry (doesn't even have to be your own crying). You will leak and have these big wet spots on your boobies. :)

As a Labor and delivery RN i can tell you facts… it is great that you are breastfeeding. As far as a bra, your baby will get whole milk with or without a bra.. a bra will actually help your breast with soreness and they will not sag from the weight. without a bra, you will find you are more sore and will sag due to the weight on your body.

Point: breastfeeding is great… your baby gets milk with or without a bra and you should be comfortable… afterall– 9 months of uncomfortable is enough! hehe

I personally was pretty much back to my pre-pregnancy size before I stopped nursing, since my daughter was only feeding once, maybe twice, per day at the end. And I stayed that way, wearing my old bras, 'til I got pregnant again.

It's fine if your supply is already established. (I think it takes 3-4 months to become fully established) If you're worried just get the nursing pads that are for heavy leakage. For over night, you can cut pads (for bleeding) in half and stick them in your bra. Trust me that it doesn't last forever. I think I stopped using nursing pads when my daughter was five or six months old.

I'm sorry…I'm in shock that your fiancee is actually in agreement to wear one if in fact there is such available. My husband wouldn't be caught dead wearing one…lol!!!

It does help, otherwise you have the weight of your breasts stretching the skin towards whichever side you're lying on.

Check Motherhood Maternaty. When I worked there, their nursing bras went up to g in the store, and further off the net.

They way we were taught to measure is that you want to get a bra that fits comfortably on the tightest hook around the ribcage, so if you currently wear 38, you would need a 40, starting now at the tightest hook going out as you get bigger. And your cup size will need to approximatly 2 sizes larger than what you are now. Motherhood used to have bras where the cup size was adjustable by 2 sizes.

And nursing bras may be something that you want to wait until about 8 months to buy, because not all women fit into that rule of thumb for measuring. You are probably going to know by the end of your pregnancy.
